Aishiteruze Baby

Posted on: March 24, 2008

Aishiteruze Baby is a sweet story about a high school playboy who gets chuck with the responsibility of taking care of a 5 year old kid. Kippei Katakura, the protagonist is pretty popular with the girls in his high school, easy going and casually flirts around with every girl he meets. however, his life gets turned around one day when he is designated as the caretaker of his cousin, 5 year old Yuzuyu Sakashita, who seemingly has been abandoned by her mom.

i love this show! the first two episodes already managed to bring me to tears, watching innocent Yuzu cry over something trivial is very touching. Kippei struggles to understand the mind of a 5 year old, from learning to make a bento lunch to juggling a relationship with the girl he likes to being a responsible brother to little Yuzu. all this and still having to deal with a girl stalker, other abusive parents setting bad examples, kindergarden troubles and Yuzu’s runaway mom.

what makes the relationship between Kippei and his little cousin so tight knit is that Kippei actually cares a lot and tries very hard to make Yuzu smile everyday. fortunately, Yuzu is a bubbly little girl who grows fond of Kippei rather quickly, always on her best behavior and innocently honest, even when deep down inside she’s missing her mother.

then there is Kokoro Tokunaga, Kippei’s soon-to-be girlfriend, a quiet and lonely girl who was raised up without a mother. she’s a pretty understanding girlfriend, seeing as Kippei devotes most of his time taking care of Yuzuyu, and not much with her.

there is just too many touching moments in this show. there’s romance and a bit of comedy but ultimately it’s Yuzu’s antics that will make you fall in love with Aishiteruze Baby. of course, Kippei does his bit as well to wipe away the sad moments with the right words in the end.

suffice to say, Yuzu is absolutely kawaiiii!!!! watching her prance around makes me feel very protective over her as well. aww…

watch it and don’t be afraid to let your emotions get swept away.

u can regard everything here as fiction, or fanfiction (me being my own fan haha), or messed up ramblings from the deranged mind of a guy in his midlife crisis. whatever. comment as u see fit. the brainless ones go to /purgatory, not that i'm saying ur a zombie. then again seeing as i'm not getting much sleep lately, i probably am one. that said, u'll realise that u can't take legal action against a zombie. cause we've gots diplomatic immuniteh. rawr.
