i had this DVD stored away for sometime now and have not gotten around to watching it. i knew it would be an action-packed movie…didn’t know it would be this good. Hot Fuzz, a police action comedy film chocked full of everything you can come to expect from a good old action, err…comedy movie.

there’s violence as well. oh yeah, gruesome death scenes worthy of a horror flick but delivered well and does not stray from the real essence of the movie, that which is a jolly good fun time. memorable characters, interesting plot, funny sub-plots involving a swan…

the only thing really missing is a super-hot babe for eye-candy, the one that died early on does not count as one. now that the show is done, i feel like watching Bad Boys next.

don’t pass this one up if you like Timothy Dalton. heh.
hurray for british comedy.

in the past, my mom and dad’s combined income didn’t amount to RM1,000k. troubled times when they had to loan cash from the Bank and from my grandpa to buy a house and car while supporting 3 kids.

i remember the house i grew up in, somewhere in Poh Kwong Park. it cost them RM35,000k then. sometimes i drive by the old place just to see how it’s holding up. it’s still there. occupied. gone are my neighborhood friends of old.

fast forward 20 or so years later…

new house RM250,000k. not very close to neighbors. all grown up and the carefree nature of the kid in me fades out. fond memories of moving in, sharing rooms and finally getting my own after.

age is catching up. feeling the need to leave the nest and find my own crib. the invisible pressure to settle down is there. an unspeakable expectation to procreate looms in the air. i shudder at the thought of house prices now. RM400,000k++ for a semi-detached double storey lot. OMGWTFBBQKFC…

i need to kena 4D.

or marry Jessica Alba.

preferably the latter…

will i ever find my leprechaun at the end of the rainbow?

this is so me to a tee…

Ratatouille…it’s niiiice. quality animation and good story is a hallmark of Pixar. this latest installment introduce us to an ambitious rat with a talent for cooking, his journey to find a place among us humans (as an equal) and find acceptance of his unusual calling among his rat pack.

got me to smile a couple of times, definitely worth watching. the setting is in lovely Paris, and we all know miracles happens in Paris. it’s family oriented, kids will enjoy it, so will you.

the banquet here in Kuching has dim sums. expensive, but very good dim sums. must try.

a shot taken with windy clouds at my work site…

been a long time since i’ve been to Crowne Plaza Riverside, enjoying their sushi buffet with friends. come to think of it, there’s been a lot of long times this year. haven’t been to the movies, clothes shopping, pubs and nightclubs, hanging out with friends etc. it’s just been a regular 5 days a week job, evening and weekends spent at home. so out of touch socially that i felt i was pretty quiet around the table with old friends. fortunately, the conversation wasn’t dull and getting reorientated was not difficult.

rm37.29 of pure joy equals to 1 month of cheap entertainment

i bought a book at Times on my way to dinner. been meaning to get it sooner. Terry Goodkind’s Phantom, the 9th book of the Sword of Truth series. good stuff. will slowly digest it. don’t really feel the rush of reading it through in a day like how i did with Harry Potter.

driving around town in the evening puts me in a mood. i kinda miss the witty talk with friends, bloggers and old college mates. sometimes i feel that the new generation are talking more sophisticatedly and the older ones are more complacent. both are good in a way.

i enjoy engaging someone in an intimate topic which may take half an hour to trash out a satisfactory conclusion. i too enjoy the quiet peacefulness of non-important “how’s the weather” topics with close friends and old mates. don’t have to rack my brain for any thought provoking answers you know.

i was a problem solver. wait, correction. i am a problem solver. i recall fondly S.N.A.G. (sensitive new age guy), a nickname bestowed upon me when i was in Uni. derived from helping gal friends with issues. thinking back now, i’m not sure if that’s really a good thing. isn’t it like confining myself to the the L.J.B.F. (let’s just be friends) tag. i guess it is sort of. well, too nice is definitely my downfall.

lucky to be him? perhaps…

i watched a hilarious comedy today. it’s called Sex & Death 101 starring Winona Ryder. watch it, for real. and when your done, ask yourself (if your a bloke) if you won’t do the same if you gotten the list. i’m recommending it to my colleagues come monday at work.
