what the heck is this house assessment bills?

i woke up to lunch today and had my dad tell me that he forgot to pay the house assessment bill from DBKU, and i was sitting there looking at him blur like a sotong. so i asked him, what is this house assessment bill for? and he keep replying assessment lor. i like went, huh? as if repeating the word will make it clear as day for me (incidentally, did any of you look up the sky yesterday? there was a huge rainbow circling the sun in Kuching).

my mom heard our conversation and chipped in that the bill is to cover for DBKU coming over and mowing the little lawn situating outside our gates and taking care of the drainage around our house. wtf? isn’t that like AROUND our house? not exactly IN our house right?

if we’re paying bills for them to come water our flowers, paint the house and fix our astro…that i don’t mind. but to take care of the path outside our house? hey, when some thief steps on our path and into our house, are they gonna do something about it? or when a stray dog comes by and plant a piece of turd in front of our gate, should we call DBKU to clean it up?

i really don’t understand all this bills. i always thought if you want to buy a house, you get a loan and pay it off monthly. and that’s it. but now, buying a house means that it comes with hidden expenses as well? this does not sit right with me…someone explain?

this just puts a smile on my face. :)

Titan Quest

Typhon

Typhon, the badass titan that crashed the Gods party up in Mount Olympus. the monster that takes up 2/3 of my 19″ Dell Ultrasharp LCD screen. the final boss in the game Titan Quest.

so i’ve been playing for like a week now, building up my character, farming gold and making myself as rich as bill gates, equipping the best gosh darn gear i could find for that final showdown with Typhon. and as i beat up every single demon, beast, undead creature and mini-bosses littered throughout the game, i slowly make my way up that mountain.

i’m prepared for a tough battle. i bought tons of healing potions. i got my glowing animated sword equipped. i got my shiny accessories on. the anticipation is there.

and…i got my ass whooped in under 10 seconds. what up? two fiery breath and i’m dead? must be a fluke. so i reload and try again. and again. and again. wtf? the badass boss can replenish his life by sucking mine. damn it.

how is a melee character gonna be able to stand up to him? everytime i get close, whoop! there goes my life…adding to his. don’t tell me i got to be a spellcaster or a hunter and plink him for wee damage from afar? jeebus! if i wanted to do that i would have build that kind of character.

okay fine. after infinite amount of reloads, i went and got myself a bow and arrow and hid in a corner to shoot him for all his hp. i kinda got further than i would have trying to bash him at close range, but this way just takes too long and not to mention boring that i gave up in the end.

uninstalled the game. delete my save files. there goes my week of hardwork. fun while it lasted. end of story.

Happy Gawai

Posted on: June 2, 2007

ai…4 days no work due to Gawai. if known earlier could have planned a vacation trip or something. i’ve been invited to visit some colleagues yesterday and today, but i’m just not up to it.

been fixated with this not too old PC game called Titan Quest for the past week. not been getting enough sleep cause of it. it’s downright exciting and i think i’m getting carpal tunnel syndrome again. the last time i spent 10 hours ++ on a PC game if i can remember is during the days of Counter-Strike beta 5. ahh the good old days. i even have an original copy of Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike Source. but it’s just not the same adrenaline rush i get in beta 5 thought.

so i’m basically spending a lot of time at home playing games. after Titan Quest, i got Command and Conquer 3 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R to play through. haha. talk about spending your time in a worthwhile en devour.

oh, i’m a DiGi Fu-Yoh! subscriber. lately, i’ve been checking out and participating in their B1DDAT wap game they have going on weekly. haven’t managed to buy anything yet (someone keeps outbidding me) but i’m intrigue to see if i can get my hands on some juicy premium goods at low low cost.

also, Cuti is giving away cash to Malaysians. you’ll note the reason why my MSN chat messenger has this peculiar tag on it when i’m online. cross-fingers to win. feel free to join in the bandwagon.

Happy Gawai friends. enjoy the holidays. it’s game time.
