wedding daze

December 30, 2007

Jason Biggs seems to enjoy taking on those nonsensical over the top comedies and it shows in his latest movie Wedding Daze. more known for his role in American Pie, credit is due for this dude’s daringness to portray ridiculous characters which goes out of their way to embarrass themselves, totally.

i had a barrel of laughs watching this movie. it’s down to earth can happen to you kind of atmosphere makes it very enjoyable. the character Anderson played by Biggs is the same old normal goofy guy we can all relate to. comparing him to his past movies, the character he portrays are relatively the same, just different circumstance.

the leading actress Isla Fisher playing the role of Katie in this film is adorable. she pretty much has no qualms about getting down and dirty with her role. don’t get the wrong idea, what i meant is that they both have wonderful chemistry going on from start to end (they both say and do silly things which just feels so right and at the same time funny).

it takes a lot of confidence thought for a guy to just propose to a stranger on their first meet, either that or insane desperation. whatever it is, it’s kinda of romantic yeah? if the sincerity is felt. at worst it’ll work as an interesting conversation opener. would you do it?

anyway, if your looking for a good time or feel like sharing a lovey-dovey moment with your significant other, this is a downright good pick to cuddle and enjoy. it reeks of love, aww’s and giggles. what more can you ask for in a romantic comedy?

Legend & Magorium

December 30, 2007

if it’s a film with Will Smith in it, my bet is on it being a pretty solid movie. I Am Legend does not disappoint. it’s an interesting concept to see how the last person on earth would continue to live his life on a day to day basis. gosh knows i went almost a week alone without human interaction and i kinda know how it felt like.

this show reminds me of Resident Evil, where a virus outbreak causes mankind to turn into zombies. all too familiar but at its core, I Am Legend is an action movie meant to entertain and it does that so well. worth your time to check it out. not everyday you get to see a smart zombie strut its stuff.

on the other hand, with such a long title – Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, you would’ve expected something special. but i’ll tell you now, it is a flop. they could’ve played more on the magical shop theme, showing us the wonders of toys but instead, they wasted a lot of time with the weak plot. even Charlie and the Chocolate Factory faired better than this.

don’t bother wasting your time with it, i’ll just spoil it for you and sum up the whole show – it’s about Dustin Hoffman handling down the ownership of the magic shop to his assistant, Natalie Portman. that’s it. i’m not even sure what’s the point of the accountant being in the film. he’s totally not needed. this is one movie to avoid at all cost.

so watch I Am Legend and don’t be indulged by the colorful Magorium waste of time show.

bedroom music

December 29, 2007

if you’ve enjoyed the music of Craig David, James Blunt, Michael Buble and John Mayer, you’ll love Shayne Ward. this absurdly good looking irish singer will take your breath away with these two bedroom tracks – “Breathless” and “No Promises”.

    You leave me breathless
You’re everything good in my life
    You leave me breathless
    I still can’t believe that you’re mine
You just walked out of one of my dreams
    So beautiful you’re leaving me
    Breathless

I don’t wanna run away, baby you’re the one I need tonight
    No promises
Baby, now I need to hold you tight, I just wanna die in your arms
    Here tonight

flight of dragons

December 27, 2007

there was this animated movie which really caught my attention in my younger days. along with other great cartoons such as Gummi Bears, Rainbow Bright, Carebears and My Little Pony, the movie Flight of Dragons gave my imagination wings to soar. i was probably around 10+ years old then. my my, what a lasting impression this movie made for me.

i found myself humming to the theme song of the movie just now, and did a google search for the lyrics. impressively enough, i remember most of the words pretty well. you can catch the whole movie on youtube if your so inclined to.

listening to this makes me feel like wanting to be a kid again. here’s the opening theme song and lyrics to boot. ah, so nostalgic.

Flight of dragons soar in the purple light
In the sky or in my mind
Flight of dragons sail past reality
    Leave illusion behind

Is it the past I see
When I look up to the heavens
    Believing in the magic
That I know could never be

I want to go where they are going
    Into the world they’ve been
Can I open up my mind enough to see

    Flight of dragons, heavenly argosies
Catch the wind, rise out of sight
Flight of dragons, pilots of fantasy
In the sky or in my mind

    Flight of dragons
    Flight of dragons

i wish they’ll do a movie adaptation for this animated film. it would so rock my world.

christmas greets

December 25, 2007

5 minutes after the stroke of midnight, i did my yearly delivery of christmas greets via sms to all my phone contacts. i’ve made it a habit of mine to be original, to compose a witty message straight from my overactive mind.

nothing irritates me more than receiving an ascii message forwarded from gosh knows where with the only alteration being the senders name at the bottom. sure it’s fun the first time, but getting the same message from a few different people makes it feel really impersonal.

so here’s a tip – be original! it’s not that hard to come up with something creative. it’s all in your heart. for those lazy buggers just put in a Merry, add a Christmas, string those two words together and finish off with your name. viola. your done. sms away.

Mery Xmas 2 U :)

sincerely,

mua.
